The members and guests of TGC at Sacconnesset enjoy fair play and a high level of competition. 

 

 

2016 Men's Championship

 

Whether challenging yourself (multiple tee boxes on each hole to create a customized playing experience), fellow members and guests, or teams from other clubs, you can be certain of excellent playing conditions so enthusiasm and skill are the determining factors in matches.

Andy (below) played steady golf all morning against 2015 Champion Aaron Cronin (above chipping).  Andy finished the first 18 holes with a 3 up lead.  Andy did not give up any ground throughout the rest of the match and increased his lead with a chip in birdie on #10 and birdie on #11.  In one more hole it was over and Andy won 7 & 6.  Aaron was a true gentlemen in defeat and hats off to him for a great defense of his title.  

 

 

In the net division 16 year old Marc DeJulio (below) took down the formidable David Skok in their 18 hole finals match. Marc held the lead for the majority of the match and never opened the door for David to get back in.  The match ended on hole #15 with Marc winning 4 & 3.

        

Ron Simons (below) captured the Senior Men's Championship.

 

 

 

2016 Women's Championship

 

 

This year's Gross Champion, Lauren Milosh (above) used her past collegiate golf experience to win the 36-hole, stroke play championship by shooting 78-83 on the demanding course layout.

 

 

Peg Szady (above) added to her ever growing collection of Club crystal, winning this year's Net Championship.  Peg played steady golf both days and played to her handicap on day two and shot a net par and closed a two shot gap held by three other players and wound up winning by 5 shots.

Men's Club Qualifier and Championship Format

 

Open Qualifier from June 30 - July 15, 2017

• Tee times reserved through Golf Shop
• Qualifier - Stroke play
• Members who wish to compete in the Championship Flight must qualify
• The low 15 gross scores will participate in the Championship Flight and be seeded based on qualifying scores
• The 2015 Champion Aaron Cronin is exempt from the qualifier and will receive the #1 seed in the Championship Flight
• Competitors must declare their intent to qualify before teeing off. Players must also have a fellow competitor, player, or marker accompanying them (no exceptions)
• Players that fail to qualify will have the option of playing in the Net Division which will be seeded off of handicap indices 

Rules of Play:

• Championship Flight: Challenger tees for qualifier and Gross Match Play 
  • Seeding based on qualifier scores
  • Ties are seeded based on "first score in receives lower seed"
• All Other Flights: Member tees and 100% course handicaps played off the low ball
• Net Division - Net Match Play
  • Seeding is based on handicap indices
  • The higher handicapped player will rteceive the full difference in course handicap between the two players; the lower handicapped player plays from scratch
• Senior Club Championship - Net match Play
  • Age 65 or older
  • Seeding is based on handicap indices
  • The higher handicapped player will rteceive the full difference in course handicap between the two players; the lower handicapped player plays from scratch
• Finals will be played from the Championship Tees in gross division

Women's Club Championship Schedule

July 21 - 23, 2017
 

To encourage higher participation, there will be 3 separate flights based on handicaps.

Flight 1:  0-19 handicaps

Flight 2: 20-27

Flight 3: 28 and up

 

Each player will play their own ball. The lowest two day Gross Total will be the Ladies Club Champion. 

Champions will be awarded in each flight for both gross and net.

 

FORMAT: 36 holes Individual Stroke Play (Gross and Net)
