It is a masterwork of renowned golf course architect Rees Jones, designed in the tradition of old New England-style golf courses. Opened for play on June 3, 2007, TGC at Sacconnesset will forever be recognized as the last new course to be built on raw land on Cape Cod (Source: Cape Cod Commission, regional governing authority for land conservation).
In late 2015, The Sacconnesset Golf Society LLC purchased The Golf Club of Cape Cod, succeeding New Falmouth Golf LLC as owners of TGC. In 2017, the Club was formerly renamed to TGC at Sacconnesset, reflecting the original name of Falmouth, Sacconnesset. The newly formed club is governed by a Board of Directors composed of club members including three managing directors. As a result of the purchase and ongoing member equity program, TGC at Sacconnesset has no debt.

The 25,000-square-foot clubhouse was built in 2007 and refurbished in 2016. Purposefully relaxed, the clubhouse features a dining room, stone patio, locker rooms, steam facilities, Golf Shop, administrative offices, executive cardio room and second-floor multi-purpose room.

The Club Patio offers al fresco dining overlooking the 18th green. Proper golf attire is required at all times on the golf course.
